Information

Getsuen is the floral armchair conceived and designed in 1990 by Masanori Umeda.
A great attempt to reconnect design with nature after the industrialization of the Seventies.
It was born from a vision: “on a full moon evening, at the end of a summer many years ago, I remember that I was moved by the sight of a blue bellflower with five petals, the Chinese Kikyo, blooming in a corner, in the small urban garden cultivated by my wife. There, in that moment, the idea of Flowers was born. Getsuen, or ‘garden with a full moon’, is the word that encompasses that moment”, says Umeda.
A velvety lily, that’s what Getsuen is, the armchair that made the Italian brand Edra famous all over the world. The structure is in manually shaped steel, the padding in polyurethane foam. Soft and comfortable, it gives a touch of vivacity to any environment. Easily movable thanks to the PLT wheels. The velvet upholstery is available in numerous colour shades.
